On January 16, 2022, I found myself on the captivating Saddle Rock Trail in Nebraska. This trail, an ideal overlook for Wenatchee, follows an old road up to a viewpoint adorned with rugged, pointed rocks known as Saddle Rock. The gentle elevation gain made for a pleasant and accessible hike, with each step revealing more of the stunning panorama. On February 3, 2022, I embarked on the Pinnacle Peak Trail, an enchanting journey through the heart of the Sonoran Desert in Arizona. The trail, a moderate 4.1-mile out-and-back path, offers a serene yet invigorating experience. As I ascended the gentle slopes, the pristine desert landscape unfolded before me, with towering saguaros and rugged rock formations painting a picturesque scene. The elevation gain of 311 feet provided just the right amount of challenge, making each step a delightful blend of effort and reward. On February 11, 2022, I embarked on the formidable Echo Canyon Trail in Arizona, an intense and challenging hike that tests the limits of endurance. This 1.23-mile trail climbs steeply, gaining about 1,280 feet in elevation from 1,424 feet to 2,704 feet above sea level. The ascent was relentless, with rugged terrain and dramatic inclines. Along the way, I was keenly aware of the multiple helicopter evacuation points for hikers who might struggle with the trail's demands, especially in the scorching summer heat. Each step brought a mix of exhilaration and caution, surrounded by breathtaking vistas that made every bit of the effort worthwhile. On January 17, 2022, I embarked on an invigorating hike along the Palmer Trail in Colorado Springs. The trail, also known as Section 16, offered a perfect blend of natural beauty and physical challenge. As I traversed the 5.5-mile loop, I was greeted by stunning views of red rock formations, lush forests, and distant mountain ranges. The trail featured a mix of steep climbs and gentle descents, making each step an adventure. Wildlife sightings, including deer and various bird species, added to the trail's appeal. Mavericks Halfpipe was an exhilarating experience, even though I don't know how to ride a halfpipe. I just went straight down the middle, enjoying the thrill of the descent. The high walls and smooth transitions of the halfpipe provided an exciting and unique skiing experience.

Vagabond is a wide blue run that we enjoyed for its mix of open slopes and tree-lined sections. The run provided a perfect balance of challenge and enjoyment, making it a popular choice for our skiing sessions. The well-groomed terrain and scenic views added to the overall experience, making each descent memorable.

Boulevard is a favorite among intermediate skiers at Steamboat Springs. This run offers a smooth and wide path, perfect for carving and enjoying a steady descent. The well-groomed terrain and moderate slopes provide a delightful skiing experience, making it a popular choice for those looking to improve their skills while enjoying scenic views.

This is only part of Main Drag, I turned off at Giggle Gulch. Main Drag is a smooth and wide run that quickly became a staple of our skiing routine. The well-groomed terrain and consistent slope made it perfect for carving turns and enjoying a steady descent. The scenic views along the way added to the overall enjoyment, making it a highlight of our mornings on the slopes.

Bashor Chair Lift was a great lift for accessing various beginner and intermediate runs. The smooth and comfortable ride made it ideal for our morning ski sessions. The lift provided beautiful views of the surrounding area, making each ascent a pleasant experience.

Christie Peak Express was a fantastic lift for accessing various beginner and intermediate runs. The high-speed, smooth ride significantly reduced wait times, allowing us to spend more time skiing. The beautiful views during the ride up added to the overall experience, making it a favorite during our trip.
